New Delhi: In a shocking statement, the Supreme Court has told the central government that, “either preserve Taj Mahal or demolish it.” This has dissatisfied many including me.

The court could have warned the government that if it fails to preserve Taj Mahal, then the court will appoint a committee to preserve it. The court also said that the Taj Mahal annual visitors’ ticket costs are more than sufficient to preserve it. The Taj Mahal has been losing its white marble colour due to the pollution made by industries around it. But, despite many years of it, the BJP led central and Uttar Pradesh state governments have taken no steps to preserve it. As citizens of India, it is our duty to preserve our historic monuments. So, let us contribute our thoughts through social media on preserving Taj Mahal and asking the government to preserve it.
